Monica has been a doctor for 15yrs. After graduating medical school in Nigeria, she came to the UK, beginning her career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and later General Practice.

She has always been interested in leadership and education and took on various leadership roles through her training. She helped teach other doctors, set up journal clubs and also a new GPs group. Due to her love for teaching she went back to University in 2012 to get a certification in Medical Education. Always keen to be the change, she was headhunted to take on a more visible role during a conference and has not looked back since.

Monica believes everyone should have good quality, equitable healthcare. She is a natural, inclusive and global transformational leader who is passionate about bringing excellence and equity to healthcare services and delivery around the globe.

In her current role, she is Clinical Director for Maternity, Children and families. She served as Vice Chair for Luton Clinical Commissioning Group up until October 2015.

She has led on various other local and regional reviews of services and procurement and enjoys driving strategy and influencing policy change to improve the benefit for the patient.

An accomplished speaker at various forums locally and internationally, Monica is always keen to share her ideas.

Saddened by the state of Healthcare in Africa and particularly Nigeria, the healthcare manifesto of the incoming Nigerian Government is of particular interest and Monica believes it is time to hold leaders to account on outcomes for the population.

Monica sits on the board of two charities. She is a keen runner and also enjoys various other sports.
